The inherent higher mechanical strength and abrasion resistance of pellets enhance the production rate of sponge iron by approx. 20% under identical operating conditions. Iron ore pellets are of spherical shape with a size range of 9-16 mm. Iron ore pellets are not vulnerable to degradation during transportation due to their high abrasion resistance.

Magnesium can substitute for iron in variable amounts as it forms a solid solution with magnesiochromite (MgCr2O4);[5] substitution of aluminium occurs leading to hercynite (FeAl2O4).[6] Chromite is found in peridotite from the Earth's mantle. This will activate the non operative financial instrument.( Buyer can proof funds with MT799 (bank to bank), if they don't want to open non-operative LC.) 9.
