Unlike natural wood MDF does not contains any knots or rings. The surface of MDF is extremely smooth. MDF provides excellent screw holding properties when screws are installed using a pilot hole. MDF is also extremely amenable to sawing, cutting, chiseling, routing, gluing, and other furniture making procedures. MDF has extremely high degree of dimensional stability.
