To ensure correct positioning of the thermowell into the socket weld fitting OMICRON can supply a gap ring. This ring is inserted into the fitting allowing the correct spacing between the thermowell step and the base of the socket weld fitting prior to welding.Incorrect positioning could lead to undue stresses and possible fatigue of the weld.
