Special designs are possible for more than 130mm length.   Batch quantity work piece are manual/ automatically loaded on the front end of the hearth which carries them into the furnace and out at other end. A pneumatic shaker quick return mechanism ensures the transport of work pieces by providing jerks to the shaker.   Normally a conveyorised oil quenching tank is used for quenching and transporting the material from the quenching tank to outside but a special austempering salt can be also provided to Marqurnch/Austemper the components where distortion is to be controlled.

Vertical Loading Type Sealed Retort Furnace Model PGC are ideal workhorses for: Gas Carburising. Gas Carbonitriding Bright hardening under protective gas such as Endo gas (RX) EXOGAS (DX), Monogas (NX or commercial nitrogen) The work Piece are placed or fastened on customer designed fixtures or basket and loaded into the retort to retort to rest on specially designed bottom casting. In the case of large or long components, like axles or tractors gears, which are preferably vertically loaded, special supports are welded inside the retort near the top to allow the pieces to hang freely minimizing distortion. After the treatment of work pieces. He complete installation for carburising / hardening comprises any of the following equipment in addition to the furnace MODEL PGC: Air Cooled Pit Water Cooled Cooling Tank. Water Quenching Tank. Oil Quenching Tank. The choice of particular equipment depends on the process requirement. Work pieces requiring direct hardening are quenched from the austenising temperature into an oil or water- quenching tank as per requirement of the material. Work piece, requiring fine grain structure after carburising, are cooled under protective atmosphere either by tacking the entire retort assembly into an air cooled cooling pit or by tacking the charge into retorted the sealed water cooled tank. After this slow cooling the work pieces are reheated in the furnace Model PGC and then quenched. Thus, in addition to the quenching tank is needed for the purpose of grain refining. A spare retort assembly will nearly double the production by heating one charge in the furnace while other retort with charge is being cooled in the air cooled cooling pit. In case of carbonitriding ammonia gas is also introduced for generation of nascent nitrogen.
