It has an opening on one side of the fitted with a circulation blower. The blower takes the inside air from the room and passes through the ducting in two paths. In one path it takes the hot and humid air and in the other it takes the cool air. The cool air and hot, humid air are mixed in the mixing chamber located on the other side of the KOJI ROOM. Water condensate gets drained through the bottom drain valve. Only the conditioned humid air will move through the top opening to the perforated duct, which is placed inside the die room. This will pass through the trays loaded with koji / bran. The air emerging from the Koji will get sucked by the circulation blower and the circulation continues.The humidity and the temperature are maintained by a heater and chilled water circulation. A modern electronic control system is used. The Relative humidity and temperature are indicated and controlled by the indicating controllers which adjust the heating and chilled water circulation to achieve accurate control. This is housed in an attractive control panel. Signal is used for indicating, controlling, recording or data logging as per the customers’ requirement. Murhopye has successfully developed solid state fermenters (KOJI) for laboratories and industries. Model PF-50 (Koji) is a pilot scale solid state fermentation plant available in 25 kg capacity onwards on a turnkey basis. Solid State Fermentation (SSF) also known as solid substrate fermentation, Koji fermentation, and solid slurry fermentation is defined as: growth and metabolism of microorganisms on solid substrate medium in the absence of tree flowing water. SSF has a number of advantages over submerged fermentation. SSF is used for the production of fermented foods, enzymes, organic acids, mycotoxins and insecticides.Murhopye Scientific Company has expertise in supplying solid state fermentors of different types and configurations from laboratory scale Fermenter to industrial solid state fermentors. Laboratory Scale Solid State Fermentor (Aseptic operation) Murhopye Laboratory Solid State Fermentors having provisions for temperature and humidity control, and sampling, are well suited for fundamental research and process development. It can be operated aseptically. Temperature, humidity and agitation controls are provided. The Fermenters are fully instrumented and controlled. Solid State Tray Fermentor Laboratory and pilot scale Solid State Tray Fermentors are used for research and development and production at small scale. The equipment consists of insulated chamber made of SS and MS with provision for trays, and monitoring and control of temperature and humidity. A humidity generator is provided. Depending upon the requirement, the size and number of trays to accommodate may be selected. Murhopye has supplied tray fermontors of different sizes to a number of organizations. The fermenttion is non asceptic.
