Hard Chrome Plating is an electrolytic process utilizing a chromic acid based electrolyte. Electroless nickel deposits areproduced by chemical reduction of nickel onto catalytic metallic substrates. Since the process requires no electrical current (as used in electrolytic deposition of chromium), the result is a very uniform coating that has a dense essentially amorphous structure as plated. Blind holes, threads, channels, recesses or internal areas receive the same amount of plate as sharp corners, edges or flat surfaces.
