Kasthuri Manjal is called as wild turmeric in English and in botanical name is Curcuma aromatica. This high value medicinal plant and its rhizomes are used only for cosmetic and medicinal preparation. Wild turmeric has anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-septic and anti-bacterial properties. The original one is off white and smells like Musk or Kasturi when cut helps in making the skin brighter. It also helps in removing facial hair and pimple marks, when used for a longer time. Brahmi or bacopa, babies tear, bacopa monnieri, hespestis monniera, nirbrahmi, indian pennywort, jalanevari and water hyssop are the other names that are used for brahmi. in english it is commonly called as the 'herb of grace'. brahmi is used in traditional indian medicines for centuries.
