Bucket Elevator finds an extensive application in industry of Material Handling whenever space constraint exists. Bucket Elevator handles wide range of materials depending upon the characteristics of the material and accordingly they are categorized into three types Centrifugal Discharge Belt/Chain Elevators This is vertical in orientation and handles free flowing fine or small lump material. Continuous Discharge This is often used for handling larger lumps and material that maybe difficult to handle by Centrifugal Discharge Elevators. The slow speed and gentle method of loading and discharging minimize breakage of fragile material. Positive Discharge Elevators This is similar to Centrifugal discharge elevator except that space between buckets is very less Bucket speed is slower and this type is specially suited to handle light, aerated, dusty and sticky materials

The Bucket Elevator is designed as a frame construction with bolted cover plates, manufactured by either stainless steel or painted mild steel.   The buckets are suspended in continuing hollow chains that are pulled by a gear motor installed at the top horizontal arm and located on the outside of the steel plates.   The material inlet is located at the lower horizontal arm and is consisting of a vibration feeder and brushing devises that provide continues and consistent flow of the material to the buckets.   The unit is mounted with inspection hatches for service and maintenance. There is a draw in the lower section allowing for easy cleaning.
