What are Voice and Accent? Voice is the sound produced by the vibration of the vocal cords while the accent is a manner of enunciation. We all have a set of muscles in our jaw, lips and tongue that help us to produce sounds; these muscles are trained by us to talk in a certain way i.e. to pronounce sounds in our native language. As we regularly use our native language our muscles are trained to produce those sounds. English being the second language is not widely used in our domestic surroundings hence we are unaware of the accurate sounds to be used while speaking the language because of which we replace unidentified sounds with the closest available sound in our native language leading to mother tongue influence or accent formation.
