Ferro manganese :- Ferroalloy with high content of manganese, is made by heating a mixture of the oxides MnO2 and Fe2O3, with carbon in a furnace. They undergo a thermal decomposition reaction. It is used as a deoxidizer for steel. Ferro Manganese, an alloy of Fe and Mn (70-80%) is obtained by smelting a mixture of iron and manganese ore with carbon in blast furnace, Ferro manganese are generally of three types high carbon,medium carbon,low carbon ferro manganese. Ferro Manganese is a vital constituent for the production of steel.
