tyvek® 1073 b (registered trademark of dupont) 67 gsm paper is used with hydrophobic coating plus polyesterpolyethylene composite film, printed with plasma-indicator. These packs are suitable especially for low-temperature plasma sterilisation and lightweight medical devices.
special advantages:
•these packs have excellent barrier-qualities, a high mechanical stability, and an excellent fibre free peeling behaviour.
•also it is very important for gas sterilisation, up to 100 times less residues of ethylene oxide and formaldehyde after sterilisation. This shortens the degassing period and reduces the absolute levels of residues of sterilisation gases.
•it has an outstanding resistance to microbial penetration and also significantly reduces the risk of packaging failure.
special processing advice:
sealing temperature about 120 - 130°c
attention: when using higher temperatures tyvek can melt and therefore damage the sealing machine! if possible install a separate packing table with an extra sealing machine with a fixed temperature of about 125°c. Tyvek- packages are not suitable for steam sterilisation because the material melts at 126°c.
