Accumulator chains are employed, when the accumulation of piece goods during conveyance occurs or is required. They are usually envisaged for parallel-running operations. The simplest type is constructed in a way that it runs with lateral support rollers on a guide rail. During accumulation-free operation the piece goods on the conveyor rollers are transported with chain speed, whereas in case of an accumulation the chain will continue to run smoothly under the accumulated piece goods owing to its freely movable conveyor rollers. Rolling friction during accumulation leads to a slight impact pressure on the goods so that at the end of the accumulation transportation will continue easily and without delay. Depending on the required application we design & supply conveyor rollers with different diameters and different material of construction. Accumulation chains can also be supplied in stainless steel, as MARATHON maintenance-free chains and in duplex or triplex designs. In case of a duplex design the roller distance is only half that of the simplex design since the conveyor rollers are staggered. For long conveyor distances lateral guide plates are recommended.
