The nozzle has two parts: mainly filter & stem. The filter usually has slots for restricting the resin or gravel from passing through along with the water. The flow through nozzle is decided based on the number of slots, slot width & length. The filter nozzle is generally fitted to the underdrain bed with the threaded stem inserted in to the holes where it will be bolted to the plate with washers & nuts.
