Tamarind seed is the raw material used in the manufacture of Tamarind Seed Powder The seed comprises : Seed coat or testa (20-30%) andWhite kernel or endosperm (70-75%) The main utilisation of the white kernel is for manufacturing quality Tamarind Seed Powder (TKP) and these kernels are also used as ingredient in cattle feed. Tamarind Seed Powder (TKP) is a complex mixture containing : Galactoxyloglucan polysaccharide (55-65%) the major component of TKPProteins (18-20%) Lipids(6-10%) and Certain other constituents like Fibers, Sugar etc Galactoxyloglucan commonly known as ‘tamarind gum’ forms a stiff gel and is used for thickening, stabilising and gelling in food. Tamarind Seed Powder forms uniform solution on heating with water while stirring. Maximum viscosity is usually obtained after boiling the dispersion for 20-30 min. It has high water absorption capacity and yields high viscosity over a broad range of pH. The Tamarind Seed Husk or dry outer shell of seed obtained from roasted seed is a very high calorific value material and it is effectively used as a biomass fuel in replacement to wood and any other alternate biomass fuels. Considering its availability and cost it is a far advantageous product to any other commercially available burning material. It is also used as a supplement in cattle feed. Tamarind Seed husk contains upto 23% Tannins, which can yield good tanning properties in leather industry. When suitably blended is used for tanning leather and imparting colour-fast shades to wool. Tamarind seed husk tannin gives a harsh and highly coloured leather which is used for heavy soles, suitcases etc. Our tamarind seed husk material is guaranteed with almost zero moisture and in full flakes form thereby assuring good economical and burning characteristics specially for power plant burning fuels.

Our derivative product from Carboxymethyl Tamarind Powder is modified and made suitable for textile printing with disperses dyes on polyester & polyester blended fabric and also as sizing agents for spun yarns. Paste Preparation : Take 8% (i.e, 8 kgs of powder with 92 kgs of cold water) of natural binder for preparation of paste and add slowly under vigorous stirring using high speed stirrer in to cold water for 30 to 40 minutes. Care should be taken to avoid formation of lumps. For complete swelling of gum particles keep stock paste for about 2 - 4 hours.
