Quartz Silica is a chemical compound called silicon dioxide. Quartz is also known as a ubiquitous mineral with an enormous number of uses. It is chemically inert in contact with most substances. It has electrical properties and heat resistance that make it valuable in electronic products. its lustre, colour and diaphaneity make it useful as a gemstone and also in the making of glass. This makes it a very essential mineral in our day-to-day life. Quartz is highly resistant to both mechanical and chemical weathering. This durability makes it the dominant mineral of mountaintops and the primary constituent of beach river and desert sand. After being processed to quartz sand < 600 uM, the quartz is used in the manufacture of glass; for special paints (road building); in foundries as moulding sand; in adhesives for the ceramics industry; in sand blasting equipment; for sanding sports stadiums; etc. Even finer in the < 80um range with a steep particle size distribution isfound in ceramic: base compounds. and at a fineness of < 20um in glazes.

Coarse, lamellar talc particles are very efficient matting agents in high PVC paints, Our fine talc with high surface area can be used to absorb excess binder and give a flattening effect to paints or coatings below critical PVC. Structurally, kaolin is a platy rnineral.The mined and sorted kaolin is then subject to processing by a wet route to produce processed kaolins with desired properties for various applications. Kaolin is termed as hydrous when the kaolin has the bound water molecule. The presence of water imparts specific properties that are useful for certain industrial applications. They are generally used as fillers in the paper, paint, glass and rubber industries. To lose the water molecule and improve colour, the hycrous clay is subjected to high temperatures and the process in known as calcination. The product is termed as calcined clay. By controlling the calcination temperature, Metakaolin (550-900°C) can be produced. Metakaolin has applications in cement, rubber, cables & ultramarine blue.
