We are offering micro silica.conash cemguard micro-silica is a super pozzolan - a finely powdered material which can be added to cementitious matter to increase durability and to provide a positive set. It has reactive silica content of over 90%. It complies with astm c1240. Microsilica, also known as silica fume, composed of amorphous silica produced by electric arc furnaces as a by-product of the production of elemental silicon or ferro silicon alloys. Microsilica can be used in a variety of cementitious products such as concrete, grouts, and mortars as well as elastomer, polymer, refractory, ceramic and rubber applications.
How it works?
1. pozzolonic effect: a chemical reaction takes place between the free lime ca (oh)2 in the cement paste and the microsilica particles which results in the formation of additional calcium silicate hydrate (csh) gel, the glue that holds the concrete constituents together. The formation of this extra binding force within the gel increases the compressive and flexural strength of the concrete.
2. micro filler effect: it is an extremely fine material, with an average diameter much finer than cement. The fine particles of fill the tiny voids and capillary pores within the cement matrix and significantly reduce porosity to produce an extremely dense and impermeable concrete.
