Founded in 2002 as Varuna Biocell by the visionary Prabhat Shanker Pandey, whose pioneering work in enzyme R&D earned DSIR recognition by 2006. His legacy lives on through the company’s transformation into Varuna Biotechnology.
Current leadership includes Pallavi Raniga (Chairperson), Manish Raniga (MD), Karan Deep Singh (CSFO), Sanjay Verma (CPO), Dr. Suman Misra (CQO & R&D), and Akshaya Pandey (CCO)—each bringing deep industry expertise and vision.
1999–2001: Inception and development of proprietary SSF technology
2004: Launched biosurfactant for detergents with 25 MT/month capacity
2006: Established Varanasi R&D lab; DSIR approval
2008: Introduced Dextrasol (dextranase) with industry support
2013: Awarded for optimized dextranase solution
2015–2023: Expanded product range to β‑galactosidase, phytase, cellulase, xylanase, pectinase, enzyme blends; obtained process patent in 2023 for dextranase production using agri‑waste
