Effective cooling relies on solid thermal conductivity. Therefore, thermal interfaces are used in between the components and the cooling unit. This can be a simple heat sink, a thermal assembly, or a housing. The thermal interface has to ensure maximum thermal coupling. Although not visible to the naked eye, the housing of a component is not flat. On a microscopic level, the surface is very rough and the same applies to the surface of the heat sink. The resulting air gaps which exist between the two surfaces are filled by using a thermal interface. But a thermal interface does more than just filling up gaps! The material also ensures that the heat is transferred uniformly to the cooling unit, with better cooling as a consequence. Thicker, softer thermal interface materials can also help in absorbing mechanical stress. Thermal interface materials of up to 8W/mK to fill gaps, available in thicknesses ranging from 0.25mm to 10.5mm (at increments of 0.25mm). The softer types (05 shore 00) are ideally suited for absorbing mechanical stress or height differentials. Various materials are also silicone-free, high-recovable, dispensable, and can be provided with special coatings and/or other materials. Electrically insulating interfacesThermally conductive material with a high electrical insulating property (up to 10,000V or higher). These materials are available in various thicknesses (ranging from 0.076 to 0.76mm), and can also be cut as required and delivered on a roll. Electrically conductive interfacesThermally conductive material which is also electrically conductive (advantageous for EMC, also known as cool pad shields). Thermal tapesDouble-sided thermally conducting sticky tape: the sticking function takes precedence over heat conduction. Thermal pastes and greasesVarious types of thermal pastes, up to 3.8W/mK, even silicone-free, and in various formats such as sealant guns or containers for an automated production process. Phase changing interfacesFor optimal thermal conductivity for processors we recommend 'phase change' materials. When heated to around 50°C, the thermal interface will pour out slightly and fill any remaining gaps. Available in thicknesses ranging from 0.076 to 0.40 mm and in screen printable versions up to 5.4W/mK. Thermally conductive PCB materialsTo be placed in between two components to improve heat transfer. These copper structures are laminated inside the PCB. Knowledge of the design is required, but heat extraction can be improved eight to ten times. Telerex can assist during the various production processes. Within each category, Telerex offers a variety of products that each tailor to the cooling requirements of the application and the allocated budget. For simple, moderate heat conduction there are economical options, while more demanding cooling needs will require more expensive materials with a performance of up to 6W/mK. Telerex offers a very wide package of LED strips for an even wider field of applications. Our main manufacturer of LED strips is Edison Opto, one of Taiwan's main LED producers. LED strips come in all sizes and shapes, but most used are the 3528, 5630, 5050 and 3014 packages. We keep most of them in stock, enabling us to deliver in 2 days. Most LED strips run on 24 Volts, although 12 Volts is also available on demand. LED strips come in several IP ratings, from IP20 up to IP67, tailoring to your specific needs, most varying in light temperature between 2700K to 6500K. Also available are LED strips in RGB and RGBW. Apart from the CCT, there is a choice in CRI values, ranging from standard CRI80 LED strips to CRI90. The latter is is gaining in popularity, due to the realistic light colour.   LED strips have a standard 3MacAdam step, reducing the risk of deviations in separate shipments. Telerex has its own connector line including for LED applications, manufactured by our own production company Mechatronix in Taiwan. With more than 300 standard models made from either metal or plastic, MechaTronix offers a complete range of LED connectors. The focus is on round and waterproof models with diameters ranging from 10 to 25 mm, protected up to factor IP68. MechaTronix has specific models of connectors for DMX, DALI and RGB, which are simple to install with screws, and we even supply complete cable assemblies and extension cables. The connectors are available with 2 to 14 contacts and can handle up to 30 A per contact. Different locking types are available, such as screw, bayonet, and push-pull. Contacts can be equipped with screw, shrinkage, and solder attachments.

Because LED lighting is increasingly replacing traditional forms of lighting, Telerex has created a separate division tailored to this particular market. We are offering dc / dc din-rail mounting. Cabinet builders often work with a 24vdc bus that goes around the entire cabinet. When somewhere a 12vdc is required, for example for feeding a camera, no special pcb is drawn for a dc dc converter pcb.
