Mechanism of Action:
Acyclovir is a guanosine analogue that gets converted into its active form (acyclovir triphosphate) by viral thymidine kinase. It inhibits viral DNA polymerase, preventing viral DNA synthesis, leading to inhibition of viral replication.
Dosage:

Adjust dose in renal impairment
Use with caution in elderly and dehydrated patients
Contraindications:
