AV-400 is used to treat infections caused by certain types of viruses. It treats cold sores around the mouth (caused by herpes simplex), shingles (caused by herpes zoster), and chickenpox.Aciclovir in AV-400 is also used to treat outbreaks of genital herpes.How Acyclovir in AV-400 be used?Take Acyclovir exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed. Do not skip any doses. Continue to take it even when you feel better. You must complete the entire course. If you don’t, the infection will not clear completely. You may take Acyclovir with or without food. If you experience stomach discomfort, you may take Aciclovir after food.
