The animal tracking collar will have both GSM and GPS capability. The animal movement coordinates will be tracked using the on-board GPS and stored in a memory chip. To minimize battery consumption of the GSM module, low-cost mini GSM receptors will be installed at various points in a given national park and those towers will have the capability to communicate with the Cell phone towers within range.
