  HEPA air filters are made from very tiny glass fibers that are made into a tightly woven paper. This creates a filter consisting of a multitude of very small sieves that can capture extremely small particles, including some biological agents. Once trapped, contaminates and particles are not able to flow back into circulation, due to the highly absorbent pores of the HEPA air filter. High efficiency particulate air (HEPA) is originally called high-efficiency particulate absorber but also sometimes called high-efficiency particulate arresting or high-efficiency particulate arrestance, is a type of air filter. Filters meeting the HEPA standard have many applications, including use in medical facilities, automobiles, aircraft and homes. The filter must satisfy certain standards of efficiency such as those set by the United States Department of Energy (DOE). To qualify as HEPA by US government standards, an air filter must remove (from the air that passes through) 99.97% of particles that have a size of 0.3 µ. Activated Carbon Filter Facts Activated carbon air filters trap odors and chemicals in highly absorbent granules (or pores), which look like a hard scrub brush. Activated carbon is a charcoal that is treated with oxygen in order to open up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms, resulting in a highly adsorbent material. Activated carbon filters were found to removed 60-70% of airborne ozone compared to filters without activated carbon. These filters removed harmful VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) by 60-80%, and formaldehyde by 25-30%. According to a report released by the Centers of Disease Control, Dept. of Health and Human Services, and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, activated carbon is an excellent absorber of most organic chemicals.

Non dissolving thread glue is applied continuously while pleating at equidistances. The thread glue here act as separators, which in turn provide uniform spacing between the media folds as well as rigidtity and strength to the media pack. The filter pack prepared is then permanently bonded to the casing. The type of casing usually available are Aluminium anodized powder coated, Galvanized iron powder coated or stainless steel.
