Glass Unit (also known as Double Glazed Unit) is described as two or more lites of glass spaced apart and hermetically sealed to form a double triple glazed unit with an air space between each lite. The most important function of IGU is to improve the thermal performance (reduce the U-value) of glass when used in architectural applications. In addition it also has acoustic benefits.
