The Gateway of India is a treasured monument that was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar in 1911. It is complete with four turrets and intricate latticework carved into the yellow basalt stone. Come back from the Elephanta caves and proceed for lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at hotel Overnight in Mumbai. DAY 03: Mumbai – Nashik Morning after breakfast drive to Nashik (Approx. 165 Kms / 4 ½ hrs drive). It is believed that the entire rock was covered in these drawings, making it the largest single work of art ever created. The mirror wall, where visitors from the 6th to the 14th centuries have put down in their own languages the feelings they got when they saw the damsels, is a unique collection of graffiti anywhere in the world. The ruins of the king’s palace at the top of the rock constitute the final destination, where the entire area comes into view, giving you the feeling of being on top of the world.
