The impure fluid which is filtered enters the filter from bottom to the center channel and goes to the top of each plate. In this filter clear filtrate flow comes out from the opening on the side plate to shell and then to the outlet. This flow makes sure 100% filtration of the fluid compared to other standard flow type. In this process the filtration takes place without any hold and completes the filtration of the batch and does not require any scavenger arrangement. The filter machines are designed by expert engineers having diverse experience and goes with the international industry standards. This offered Zero Hold Up Filter Press guarantees reliable performance and has a good durability of its cloth and there is no requirement of the frequent change of the cloth.   Construction The filters are made out of Stainless steel in S.S. 304, 316 & 316 L qualities.   The cartridge assembly consists of a number of disc type filter plates with perforated support screen, filter media and interlocking cups placed one on top of the other and supported at the bottom by a cartridge plate. The entire assembly is held together with the help of side tie rods which are of ‘T’ type construction for longer life.   The filter together with the pump and interconnecting piping is mounted on a sturdy base cladded with S.S. sheets and provided with castors for movability. The filter can also be supplied without pump, where external positive pressure is available.   Operation The liquid to be filtered is passed into the vessel by means of the pump or other external means. The liquid then passes through the top of the filter plates from the holes provided at the side of the plate and onto the filter media. The liquid flows simultaneously and individually through all the member plates. Hence the output of the filter depends on the diameter and the number of plates. The filter media then retains the impurities in the liquid and the filtered liquid passes through the central channel to the outlet at the bottom.   The filters are optionally available with steam jacket for filtration of difficult liquids that solidifies at lower temperatures.   These types of filters are generally used for obtaining clear filtrate, but it can also be used to obtain the cake that is retained on the filter media, between the plaes.

    • A disc filter is a type of water filter used primarily in irrigation, similar to a screen filter, except that the filter cartridge is made of a number of plastic discs stacked on top of each other like a pile of poker chips. Each disc is covered with small grooves or bumps. The discs (or rings) each have a hole in the middle, forming a hollow cylinder in the middle of the stack. The water passes through the small passages in between and the impurities are trapped behind.[1][2]\r\nThe filtration quality is based on the quantity and size of particles that the filtering element is able to retain. Higher quality filtration simply means cleaner water. This depends on the geometry of the channels, including the size, length, angle, and number of generated intersection points.[3] The discs are typically color coded to denote the level of filtration.[4] Filtration quality is usually measured in microns, based on the smallest size particle filtered. The typical range is from 25 microns for the finest level of filtration to 400 microns for the coarsest.[5]
