    • Microprocessor Disintegration Test Apparatus Model – 1901 is a solid state instrument designed for the accurate estimation of disintegration time of tablets as per IP/USP standards. The instrument is designed to test two batches of six tablets, simultaneously, and useful for pharmaceutical industry. It is used in quality control labs and R & D to determine compliance with the disintegration requirement of the tablet and capsule as per USP/IP standards.   Instrument uses the latest microprocessor technology and advanced engineering techniques so as to give enhanced accuracy and reproducibility. The system has user friendly prompts, which guide you throughout the measurement process.   Microprocessor Disintegration Test Apparatus is equipped with 4 line alphanumeric LCD display with backlit for displaying various test parameters and 15 soft touch membrane type keys with full numeric keypad that provides a convenient interface for entering numeric values. The samples being analyzed are automatically stored in the memory in different batch and sample numbers.   The instrument has the storage facility for 200 samples. It also has the facility for 20 different test setups which are retained in the memory even when the system is switched OFF. Provision has also been made for attachment of any dot matrix printer with centronics interface so that any of the stored setups/result can be printed.   The unit is provided with two glass beakers having capacity of 1000 cc. with arrangement to hold temperature sensor placed in the sturdy, acrylic water bath. The large spread out stainless steel heater ensures perfectly uniform heating. The instrument has dual channel temperature system with sensors to monitor the test temperature of disintegration beaker as well as water bath temperature. The temperature of the water bath and beaker is accurately maintained at ± 0.2°C.     • Melt Flow of thermoplastic material is defined as the rate of flow in grams per ten minutes of extrude of molten resins through a jet of a specified length and diameter under prescribed conditions of temperature, load & piston position in a cylindrical cavity inside a heated metallic tube barrel at the measurement is being made.Melt Flow Index Apparatus for Plastic consists of a heated extruder tube, an interchangeable jet through which the material under test is extruded, and a piston with dead weights to apply the specified pressure on the material inside the extruder tube. The extruder tube is made from carbon steel and is heated by means of a Bend Heater, which surrounds its outer circumference. A PID controller is provided to indicate & control the temperature of the tube. The tube has a whole parallel to its bore for placing the thermocouple junction. The heater logged with mineral wool insulation. The assembly is fixed on a rigid stand. The bottom of the tube is lagged with a 3 mm thick insulation of PTFE to prevent sticking of the extrude. The jet through with the extruder is pushed out is made from hardened and ground die steel. It is held at the bottom of the extruder tube. The piston made from silver steel relieved at the upper end is provided to push the extrude out of the jet. The piston moves inside the cavity of tube. A sleeve to provide to guide the relieved portion of the piston. The top of the piston carries a plate-form for keeping the load on. The plate-form is thermally insulated from the load. The extruder tube assembly is mounted on a metal box. A sheet metal control panel is mounted on the side of the equipment & houses the PID Controller, DIGITAL PRESET TIMER at other electronic components. Cleaning tools for tube cavity and jets & stoppers & cutter for the extradite are also supplied with the equipments.RELATED STANDARD :ASTM-D- 1238 – 1982 : Standard test method for flow rate of Thermoplastic by Extrusion Plastometer.
