Specialty Modified Starch - Soluble Starch (Solamyl-9- Tapioca Origin) : Key challenges in using modified starch as carbohydrate source in submerged fermentation process is supplying concentrated, non gelatinsed and retrogradation free starch right from initial media preparation in fermentor. The starch viscosity and other rheological properties must be controlled to enable fermentation to proceed efficiently. Our Soluble starch was indentified as most suitable raw material by many pharmaceutical and enzyme manufacturing  industries mainly to maintain a high yield of intra cellular and extracellular metabolite production  that includes primary and  secondary metabolites, such as enzymes, antibiotics, polyketides, statins, immunosuppressive drugs, oleaginous activity and statins etc. Our soluble starch is unique that emphasis metabolic stress with delayed supply of sugars. The limited free reducing sugars in the soluble starch must be sufficiently low so that a good metabolic stress (delayed supply of carbon and nitrogen) is maintained in the fermentor . Our Solamyl-9 address the above-mentioned challenges with the soluble capacity  ranging from 5% up to 50% (500 g/L) and contains less than 9% free reducing sugar. The high starch solubility helps in slowing down the release of carbon nutrients for microbial growth during fermentation processes, and so creates the metabolic stress mentioned above.
