A Water Softener is an equipment that removes the Hardness (i.e. Ca and Mg ions) of the influent water to render the effluent water 'Soft'. Having come a long way from the days of Lime - Soda Softening and Zeolite based Softening process, today's Softener is a pressure vessel filled with 'Strongly Acidic Cation Resin' in Sodium form. The Ca / Mg ions are exchanged for (replaced by) Na ions held on the resin matrix. When all exchangeable Na ions are replaced, the resin is 'exhausted' and is 'regenerated' by a 12-13% solution of Brine (Nacl). UF Ultra filtration systems offer a robust system designed to remove suspended solids and organic impurities from a variety of different water streams. Canon International offers sewage treatment plants and its aims to achieve STP Plant through physical, chemical and biological clean water from black and mixed. This plant treated waste water local consumption from the city for the most part. Sewage Treatment plant methods include: A Primary Treatment : It consists of decontamination for removing particles smaller than a certain size suspended solids were unable to be removed in the pretreatment. This process is called Primary Treatment. The sedimentation tanks provide sufficient capacity to establish quiescence in the wastewater, allowing solids with a higher specific gravity than water to settle and those with a lower specific gravity to float. Well-designed and well-operated primary treatment should remove 50 to 70% of the suspended solids and 25 to 40% of the BOD. Free oil, grease and other floating material are removed by skimmers from the surface of the primary sedimentation tanks. Typical detention time in the primary sedimentation tanks is 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Chemical flocculants / polymers are frequently added to the primary sedimentation tanks to increase solids removal. Solids removed during primary treatment are dewatered and disposed of as part of the sludge treatment.

The Rejection rates of salts from water is generally in the region of 95-99.5% dependent upon the membrane type used and the raw water feed quality. Reverse Osmosis systems, in their basic form, consist of a pressure pump, housing and the membrane. The size of the RO and choice of membrane will be determined by the permeate quantity required, feed water salinity and permeate quality expected.
