INDUSTRIES SYNDICATE’ make NGRs are rated upto 33KV.Single line to ground faults are tripped off immediately.This is one of the widely used form of system grounding. Usually neutral of substation transformer upto 33kv is grounded through a resistor called neutral gounding reistor. Ohmic values are so selected as to relieve the system of destructive transient voltages.
Neutral grounding resistor is used to avoid damages and disturbances due to the ground faults. This also produces a value that is sufficiently low to prevent damaging fault currents to the power generation, distribution and other associated equipment.
