In the vertical mill the spindle axis is vertically oriented. Milling cutters are held in the spindle and rotate on its axis. The spindle can generally be extended (or the table can be raised/lowered, giving the same effect), allowing plunge cuts and drilling. There are two subcategories of vertical mills: the bed mill and the turret mill.

All cast parts are of fine close grained grey iron, machined to closed tolerance and are subjected to rigid inspection at all stage of assembly to ensure accuracy and trouble free service. Base is generously proportioned and fortified by internal ribs, the base is built to handle heavy jobs, Three T-slots on the base ensure easy handling of the job. Column is cast as one single piece, ensures, perfect, rigidity. It is ground on the external circumference. The ARM moves up and down by a screw and rotates with complete ease around the column. For angular drilling, it tilt in Model PRD 25 & 32. The graduation provided on the collar of the arm indicates the degree of the incline to any desired angle up to 90 degree on either side.
