Sona mine was established in the shape of om & company in the year 1969 in the heart of kolkata. Om happens to be the most inspiring and divine word. It involves the spirit of god. Mr. Suresh gupta was very much aware of it when he named his concern “om & company”. The creator (god) has given him sona.
om has given sona to mr. Suresh gupta with the blessings of his father sri g.k. Gupta who had encouraged him to explore the creativity associated with om.
Since then, sona has become synonymous with each and every part of a bicycle. Years of life of sona is a mixed bag of
experiences; sweet and sour. Even after this, the company did not lose faith in itself and increased its strength from hurdles to hurdles.
In 1989, sona expanded its wings to ludhiana and now, the wings are expanding from india to other countries to cater to the demand of the consumer. In 1994, sona shifted its head office from kolkata to ludhiana and opened up a branch in kolkata to cater to the increasing demand of sona products. In order to move with the brand, om & company gave its way to sona cycle industries in the year 2010.

The company has been manufacturing and exporting goods under the brand “sona” and “torex”. With time we have diversified ourselves into various sectors and we are expanding and expanding fast. With the huge success in our parent business of bicycles and bicycle parts, we have expanded ourselves into fasteners, hand tools ,stationary and threewheeler parts majorly Bajaj.
