Alugen® Aluminised Fire Proximity Suits offer an efficient solution to working in high-temperatures with superior durability.The most critical part about the Aluminised Fire Proximity Suit is the intactness of Aluminium on the outer layer of the suit as it reflects 95% heat, thereby allowing the wearer to remain much longer in proximity to heat & fire. The durability of Aluminisation on fabric can be confirmed by conducting a test named “Wet Flex” test. The procedure goes as follows,  The fabric is dipped in 60°C hot water for 15 mins and then 1000 machine abrasion cycles are conducted. There should be no delamination, or peeling off on any part of the fabric. All 'Alugen' Suits are made from fabrics which pass Wet Flex test. Most of the fabrics available in market do not pass this critical test. As a user one should be careful about this. GENTEX's proprietary Dual Mirror® / Flexir® Aluminized Fabrics offers an exceptionally high level of abrasion resistance - the result of its unique, five-layer fabric structure. This proven system ensures that the suit remains highly reflective even after repeated use and proper care and cleaning.   The five layers consist of an outer skin of 1. Aluminum, 2. Protective film, 3. Second layer of Aluminum, 4. Heat-stable adhesive and 5. Base fabric. These individual layers are then combined to form a single fabric. Additional layer (Vapour Barrier) is also used for higher temperature. Outer fabrics tested and approved by Defence Institute for Fire Research New Delhi & field tests performed by Defence-Indian Navy NBCD School, INS Shivaji.
