Gaskets with a soft pliable core, surrounded by a metal jacket that totally or partially encloses the filler material. Pass partition bars can be incorporated, either integrally or welded into the gasket. Jacket may be corrugated.   Applications Metallic jacketed gaskets are specially designed and widely used for heat exchangers, autoclaves, columns, pressure vessels, flue stacks, boilers, gas mains, valve bonnets, pumps and similar services. The metallic gaskets are manufactured from a soft, pliable filler core surrounded by a metal jacket, chemically and thermally resistant to the working conditions, which may totally or partially enclose the filler. The majority of these types of gasket are supplied in circular form but can be manufactured to other shapes to suit individual requirements. The method of manufacture enables gaskets to be produced with almost no size limitations. They are produced in different styles to API, ASME DIN and BS standards.   Metal Jacket Metallic gaskets are only used in the annealed condition and limit the hardness of the metal in line with international standards as shown.   Fillers Selection of the correct filler is important and as standard we use a soft non-asbestos filler. This metallic material is constructed from inorganic fibre and inert fillers, suitably bonded, which produces a material having very similar characteristics to those of asbestos millboard. Spiral Wound Gaskets are composed of a metallic continuous stripe with a special shaped profile, coupled with a continuous filing stripe (Asbestos, PTFE, Grafoil, Ceramic etc) evenly wound in concentric spiral under constant stress. Spiral Wound Gaskets are reinforced on the inner and outer diameter by winding of several electrically welded spiral metals only. The main property of Spiral Wound Gasket, owing to elastic action of the special metallic stripe profile, is that of offering a perfect sealing under all fluctuating pressure and temperature conditions, also where temperature excursion has considerable value, maintaining tightening elastic recovering. This elasticity can be modified by a proper selection of components, and they can be installed even with flanges at standard working with lightly pitted or buckled by the use of flanges. Metal Jacketed Gasket can come in different styles like Double Jacket, Single Jacket or Solid Metal, Soft Compressible filler material can be flexiable graphite, PTFE or Non Asbestos Compressed Sheet. The filler material gives the gasket resilience, while the metal jacket protect the filler and resists pressure temprature and corrosion.

  Special Springlike Metal strips are wound with an Asbestos/Asbestos-Free P.T.F.E/Grafoil Filler by a special process to assure a leakproof seal. The sealing is done by the Heat Resistant Filler and the metal strip provides the spring. This combination of metal and soft Heat Resistant Filler piles compresses to its predetermined thickness under bolting pressure and thereby prevents leakage within the limit of its specified pressure and temperature. With the addition of centering devices, "CHAMPION" Spiral Wound Gaskets can be adapted for use on many types of flanges and closures.
