PVC Insulated Copper Conductor Single core (Unsheathed) Cables in Voltage Grade up to and including 1100 V & generally conforming to IS 694 : 1990 Conductor The conductor is composed of high purity, bright annealed bare electrolytic grade copper wires complying to IS 8130:1984, which are drawn, annealed and bunched in high precision machines geometrically and appropriately to ensure apposite flexibility, uniform resistance and proper dimension.   Insulation The bunch copper is insulated with a specially formulated PVC compound having high insulation resistance and dielectric strength and conforming to the requirements of Type A of IS 5831:1984 & also suitable to use from -15c to +70c rated conductor temperature. The high speed & fully synchronized extrusion process with automatic on-line controls gives consistence high quality wire insulation. Improved Fire Performance Category C1 Wires are also available with following Fire Retardant properties. Specially formulated FR PVC Compound ensures additional safety against the fires because of its high Oxygen and Temperature index properties.

LT PVC Cables or Low Voltage cables are used to supply power to large motors and other industrial equipments. These cables are manufactured for a voltage range of 1kV to 3.3kV for IEC and BS specifications. The copper conductors are of higher purity and conductivity is drawn and annealed to stringent specification In PVC Power Cables the conductor is insulated with the poly vinyl chloride covering over conductor as insulation by extrusion process and In XLPE Power Cables cross linked polyethylene covering as insulation over conductor by extrusion process.

Further, simplified terminators and jointing techniques make these cables eminently suitable among other applications for Industrial and Mining installation.  Advantages of PVC Cables : The insulation resistance and breakdown strength are practically unaffected by moisture. These cables are thus suitable for laying even under water. Cables can be overloaded for short periods without any appreciable effect on cable life. The cables can be laid vertically and on steep slopes as there is no impregnating compound involved. The cables are flame retardant since PVC ignites with great difficulty and is self extinguishing These cables are immune to chemicals normally encountered in practice. Due to their lightweight, PVC Cables are easy to install and handle. Small bending rapider permit the termination of these cables in limited space. Low tension PVC Cables do not normally require sealing ends, when terminated indoor. The terminations can therefore be effected quickly and economically. PVC Cables have tough but smooth outer covering and are thus abrasion proof. PVC cables are not affected by vibration. PVC Cables have high short circuit capacity since they can withstand a high transient temperature without any deformation of insulation or displacement of conductor. PVC Cables have a long service life.
