A jib crane is a type of crane where a horizontal member (jib or boom), supporting a moveable hoist, is fixed to a wall or to a floor-mounted pillar. Jib cranes are used in industrial premises and on military vehicles. The jib may swing through an arc, to give additional lateral movement, or be fixed. Jib cranes are useful especially for loading or unloading of workpieces on machine tools industry. These are also useful for loading or unloading of trucks. They can also become an inseparable part of a standalone workstation and machine assembly area.IEW designs and manufactures such Jib Cranes to meet specific client requirements.

Gantry / Goliath Cranes are adapted to applications where overhead runways would be very long, costly to erect, and difficult to maintain in alignment. Where the installation is only temporary, a gantry crane can be moved to a new location with less trouble or expenses than an overhead crane and its runway. Also it is comparatively easy and inexpensive to extend the length of the runway and thus increase the working area of the crane. Most gantry crane installations are outdoors. The initial cost of a gantry crane, which may be double that of an overhead crane, must be equated against the additional cost of an overhead runway. Goliath / Gantry Cranes are self-propelled cranes running on rails installed at ground level. Applictions of these type of cranes are - Construction sites Stockyards, Ports and harbors Marble and granite industry Workshops where existing columns cannot bear the wheel loads of a single or double girder bridged crane Workshops that might restrict the height of lift of a regular bridge crane Locations where bay lengths are excessive Locations where bay lengths do not remain constant Sites / projects where the crane itself needs to be relocated from one place to another  Locations where loads are to be shifted from points outside the crane span as in the case of an overhang on either side of the rails      

In workshops where part utilization of shop bay is required (as in a tool room attached to a press shop), a Semi-Goliath/Gantry Crane is used. In such a configuration, one end-carriage of the crane will travel on the regular gantry rail while the opposite end-carriage will travel on a rail mounted typically on the ground or at a lower elevation. These Cranes have legs of unequal length to operate on rails at different elevations.All these cranes are available in Single Girder, Double Girder design and they may be a custom made to suit customer’s specific requirement.
