Silica manganese is an alloy of Iron, Silicon & Manganese. It has higher Silicon content in comparison to Ferro Manganese. Silicon reduces the solubility of carbon in manganese alloys, so carbon contents are inversely proportional to silicon content. It is a more potent deoxidizer of steel compared to Ferro manganese. Deoxidization with SiMn results in cleaner steel than using Ferro Silicon.
