Fiber Optic Pigtail – Product Description
A Fiber Optic Pigtail is a short length of optical fiber cable with a factory-terminated connector on one end and a bare fiber on the other end. It is primarily used for splicing into fiber optic cables in patch panels, optical distribution frames (ODF), and fiber termination boxes. Fiber optic pigtails provide a reliable and low-loss connection, making them an essential component in modern fiber optic communication networks.
Manufactured with high-quality single-mode or multi-mode optical fiber, fiber optic pigtails ensure excellent signal transmission and minimal attenuation. The connector end is pre-polished and tested at the factory to meet strict quality standards, ensuring consistent performance and reducing installation time. Common connector types include SC, LC, FC, and ST, available in both UPC and APC polish options to suit different network requirements.
At CRW we have understood the subtleties of constructing Reliable Fibre Cores for varied end applications. Fibre Core with tolerance on diameter and density of +2%, - 2% for Elevator applications i.e. highly uniform cores for Steel Wire Rope are our speciality. These are being appreciated the world over by Wire Rope makers. These can be constructed in 3 or 4 Strand construction with right lay or left lay. Linear densities (weight per metre) can be made to suit customer preferences. Soft, Medium and Hard cores are easily constructed.
