Epoxy Seal: Epoxy potting forms a good moisture seal with more mechanical strength than a silicon rubber seal. Recommended for a system assembly with large no of tubular elements. Cement: recommended for the heater which operates at very high skin temperature. Provides protection against high viscous fluids and dusts. The top layer can be provided with additional insulation to make it moisture resistance as well.

Strip heaters, commonly called component or clamp heaters, based on the principle of convection air heating, use surface area to transfer heat effectively. Using most advanced heat technologies, strip heaters are an outstanding industrial heating product. It comprises of a heating element, a protective sleeve or sheath, and mounting hardware and can be clamped or bolted onto objects or solid surfaces. A coiled nickel chromium element wire is placed in the center of the heater. The element wire is then embedded in magnesium oxide (MgO)-based insulation and compacted into a solid mass creating excellent heat conductivity and high dielectric strength. The heater is then enclosed in desired sheathing. Suitable to work in 500 degree F temperatures, magnesium oxide is used for increasing efficiency. Temperatures can be controlled by using a temperature controller such as a thermostat. When using strip heaters, proper sheath material for resisting rusting or oxidation and suitable watt density of the element should be selected keeping in mind the application. These can be shaped and sized according to the use. Metal Sheathed Semi Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer is widely used as a reference to calibrate various temperature probes, particularly in secondary calibration laboratories. SSPRT is constructed with a 6 mm outer diameter metal sheath of high durability. Inside the sheath, the sensing element is protected to shield the sensor from contamination by free-floating metal ions found within the metal environment at high temperatures. The electrical configuration is a four-wire current potential hookup to eliminate the effect of lead wire resistance.
