Spacer Tape is a specialized load bearing PVC foam tape, designed to act as a spacing element between the IG (insulated glass) unit and frame during the assembly of structural glazing fabrications. Main Application Recommended for use as a spacing element in structurally glazed fabrications. Spacer Tape forms an effective short-term bond between the frame and the IG unit during assembly and creates a gap of the correct dimensions for the structural silicone, which is used as the primary bond.   Application Instructions   Surface preparation Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from all contamination. The surfaces should be cleaned using an appropriate cleaner. Primers may be required on some substrates. It is recommended that Adshead Ratcliffe Technical Services should be consulted and advice obtained with regard to the choice of primer for specific purposes   Application   Unwind the tape and apply the open face directly to the frame. Cut to the required length forming tight butt joints at the corners. Press the tape firmly onto the surface by hand or by using a seam roller. Remove the protective liner immediately before glazing. Carefully position the IG unit onto the tape and apply pressure to consolidate the bond. The structural silicone can now be applied.

Single-sided adhesive foam tapes allow bonding to a surface or joining of two adjacent or overlapping materials. Single sided foam tapes are usually coated with acrylic or rubber adhesive. Applications include control panel doors, AHU�s, Ducts etc. usually comes in 10 Meter length, in required width and required foam, EPDM/Neoprene/XLPE/PU etc. This product provides good firmness and thickness which enables durable, long term performance for gasketing, sealing and cushioning. It possesses excellent chemical resistance, good weather ability and water-seal tightness. Self-Adhesive plain foams for duct insulation (EPDM / Nitrile/ XLPE/ EP etc): Insulation foam needs to be fixed on metal ducts in central A.C. system. Insulation fixing on site is a challenging task. The process involves cutting the foam in to required length and width, application of solvent based adhesive on both the surfaces (foam and duct) with the help of brush and then fixing the same on duct after the solvent gets dried. Modern countries use self-adhesive baked foams for duct insulation. The same result in saving in labour cost, speedy execution of work, reduces risk of fire due to use of highly flammable solvent based adhesive and human fatigueless. Workmanship of the job is better as the adhesive is uniformly coated on entire surface.
