Many materials which are low in cost cannot be transported in bags and are often transported loose in bulk in standard open trucks. The unloading of this loose material after the truck reaches the destination is now done manually creating major dust and health problems. The OTU is designed to eliminate such manual unloading The unit consists of a hydraulically articulated 3-arm boom with a suction nozzle and suction pipe attached to it. This boom will enter the truck from the rear and is operated by a radio remote controlled hand held pendant unit
The bulk material is sucked out through the suction nozzle / pipe into a filter receiver where the bulk material and conveying air get separated. The air exits through a built-in automatically cleaned reverse jet filter unit to the suction port of a special type Roots Blower. The collected bulk material in the filter receiver drops to a conveying pipe below through a Rotary Valve. This conveying pipe receives motive-conveying air from a different Roots blower meant only for the discharge operation. The bulk material which falls into the conveying piping from the 2 Nos. Rotary Valves of the primary cyclone and filter is conveyed to the customer silo pneumatically by this blower. The customer silo should have a suitable filter on top.

To impale the bags against the knife the machine literally "drops " the bag from a height of about 1 meter on to the blade. The moment the bag is slit, the material spills out. After this, the cut bag is tumbled in an inclined wire mesh drum in which the bag is repeatedly lifted and dropped as it moves forward to the exit. Material falls through the mesh to a collection hopper while the cut bag pieces find their way to a bag compactor. An integral dust extraction system ensures dust free operation while the bags are being cut and tumbled.

Bag Filters used in Pneumatic Conveying Systems as the final element to prevent any dust carry-over to the environment. The bag cleaning is done by an electronically controlled valve with timer. Bag filter are floor mounted with a suitable integral collection hopper and a discharge valve. Bag filters are available in different sizes and material of construction depending on applications. Scorpio can manufacture top loading, bottom loading and side loading of the filter elements to suit critical site requirements. The dust particles down to 0.3 micron can be filtered by a special filter element.

The scorpio’s bag dump hopper is suitable for manually unloading the contents such as powders, pellets, flakes, granules etc of standard 50 kg / 25 kg. Bags. It consists of an integral hopper into which contents of the bags are manually unloaded. The hopper is fitted with a mesh to separate thin and long fibres. A dust filter is mounted onto this hopper. The dust filter operates with a reverse pulsejet cleaning mechanism. Dust generated while emptying of the bag, is collected onto the filter bags and dislodged by the air pulses. A centrifugal fan mounted above the filter unit evacuates dust free air to atmosphere. This unit is available in both mild steel and ss304 contact parts.
