Dry type Transformers, class 'H' insulated, have insulating materials which are with high dielectric strength and are capable to withstand high temperatures. The temperatures are generally made to comply with IEC-60076/IS-2026/IS-1171.Range up to 1600 KVA of 11 KV Class.   Advantages:     Use of non-biodegradable materials makes these suitable for strict   environmental conditions.   No fire or explosion hazards because of use of nonflammable   materials & absence of any liquid insulation.   Non-requirement of oil sump makes these ideally suitable for   installation near load centers thus reducing cabling costs and improving voltage regulation. Industrial, Substation & Distribution purpose Manufacturing range Upto 2MVA 22 KV naturally air cooled.A dry type transformer has an iron core, vacuum pressure resin impregnated high voltage windings and low voltage windings . The low voltage winding is constructed with conductors. Dupond nomex insulating material includes an apparatus to secure the windings in place during a vacuum and pressure resin impregnation process. The result is a coil that exhibits high short circuit protection due to the tightly bond conductors comparable to completely resin encased molded transformers at a substantially reduced cost.

Dry type transformers are suitable for indoor installations in explosive atmospheric areas and populated locations such as malls, multiplex etc. These dry type transformers have F or H insulation class with or without enclosure as per the site requirement. Dry transformers are very compact in sizes and hence suitable for basement installations in high rise buildings etc. Dry transformers are available with low losses giving savings over long service periods. Periodical vacuum cleaning of winding surface is the only maintenance. The capacity range of these iron core transformer is up to 2000 KVA with primary Voltage up to 11 KV class & secondary Voltage between 433 to 6600 Volts. Open Ventilated Dry Type (OVDT) Vacuum Pressure Impregnated (VPI) Eco Friendly Transformers KOTSONS was one of the first Indian manufacturer to use the DuPont ReliatraN® branded solution and develop Ventilated Dry Type Transformers in collaboration with E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, U.S.A. KOTSONS Eco Friendly VP transformer coils are vacuum pressure impregnated in high temperature varnish. The process includes complete submersion in varnish under vacuum and pressure and regulated curing using PLC controlled equipment to ensure consistency. The finished coils are effectively protected against moisture, dirt, and most industrial contaminants. A 220°C Class NOMEX® Listed insulation system is used on KOTSONS OVDT VPI transformers regardless of specified temperature rating. This system accommodates a standard temperature rise of 155°C.
