GEM Tubular Plate Batteries are specially designed for inverter applications and are made with ultra-thick charged plates for long life & performance. They are user-friendly batteries with quick initial charging capability, very low internal resistance, and have a steady voltage profile during short & long duration discharges. The sealed float and ceramic filter plugs help easy maintenance of electrolyte level and ensure no fume emissions. These batteries have a great charge acceptance and retention properties even in arduous working conditions.
Initial Filling and Charging Instructions
Fill battery grade sulphuric acid in all the cells up to the required levels
Filling Specific Gravity: 1.220 +- 0.005 at 27°C
Fully Charged Gravity: 1.250 +- 0.005 at 27°C; adjust final working gravity in all the cells
Charge the batteries with constant current as indicated in the table, after 2 hrs. of soaking period, until the top of charge voltage reach 16.20

GEM has launched its solar flooded tubular monobloc batteries designed to offer reliable, consistent and low maintenance power for renewable energy requirements. These batteries can be subject to deep cycle applications and minimum maintenance in rural and power deficit areas. The batteries have a capacity to withstand partial state of charge (PSOC) operation. These monobloc batteries are available in 12 Volts from 20Ah to 150 Ah @ C10 at 27⁰C to 1.80 vpc.
GEM has also developed a 2- volt range of tubular batteries from 200Ah to 600Ah for solar photovoltaic applications having a design life of ten years plus. However, the life of the battery is dependent on the ambient temperatures and the number of times it is cycled and the depth of discharge.
These solar batteries have been developed keeping in mind the various parameters peculiar to India by a team of scientist and engineers at a R&D facility dedicated to electrochemical research at our works in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.
GEM decided to develop these solar batteries keeping in mind the increased awareness and public spending in the field of new and renewable energy for applications in household lighting, street lighting and in rural and urban cellular telecom installations. We expect a significant shift in the telecom industry towards use on non-conventional energy due to increased operational expenses. Increased government incentives and subsidies will, in the next couple years, lead to increased spending by governmental agencies in the new and renewable energy.
Our batteries are designed to give long life in cyclic operations and extremely long intervals in topping up and even total freedom from maintenance.
While, our batteries are approved by MNRE, GEM continues to experiment with new and improved alloys and manufacturing technologies to enhance the life of our solar batteries, reduce topping up, etc.
