Hulling requires huge amounts of water because in the process the sesame seeds are soaked in water in order to reduce the breakages. These soaked seeds are then hammered mechanically using large wooden hammers and thereafter the skin is removed. The de-skinned seeds are washed and then dried with the help of machines.
