The combination of flexibility, high longitudinal strength, and easy deforming ability in the transverse direction makes expanded PTFE unsintered tape very suitable for packing and thread sealing applications. But it is not suitable for use in certain critical applications, for example when contact with high concentration of gaseous oxygen or liqud oxygen is involved.
