Teflon is a brand name of chemical compound of fluorine and carbon called PTFE. The name "Teflon" has now become so popular that it has acquired the position of generic name for this chemical. It is a plastic material that is highly resistant to chemicals, corrosion and oxidation. It can withstand temperatures up to 250 °C. Also, it has one of the lowest coefficient of friction against any solid.

Poly propylene (P.P.), also known as poly propene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications, including packaging, textiles (e.g., ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components, and polymer banknotes. An addition polymer made from the monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.

Extruded Nylon has a consistent history of replacing materials like: metal, brass, bronze, aluminium and rubber. In replacing metal gears in machinery, extruded nylon can be advantageous because of its ability to reduce noise, use less lubrication and increase gear life. It can also be fabricated on most mills with high precision. NDYLON extruded nylon type 66 is characterized as having an excellent combination of physical properties including: high melting point, resistance to repeated impact and abrasion, and , low- coefficient of friction. It has good resistance to fuels, lubricants and most chemicals, but is attacked by phenols, strong acids and oxidizing agents.

The name "Delrin" refers to a class of acetal homopolymers. It offers high tensile strength, impact resistance and stiffness, and outstanding fatigue endurance. Delrin is resistant to moisture, gasoline, solvents, and many other neutral chemicals and also maintains natural lubricity at a wide end-use temperature range.
