Wireline Overshot compliments a Wireline Core Barrel. Once core sample is filled inside the inner tube of a wireline core barrel, overshot is released from the top. Wireline Overshot Assembly slides inside the wireline drill rods. Lifting dogs of the overshot locks the spear head of the core barrel. Overshot along with inner tube is pulled out with steel wire rope.

UEW Wire line Drill Rods are manufactured from cold drawn seamless tubing of high grade steel. In converting raw tubing into finished Wirline Drill Rods UEW employs accurate CNC lathe machine tools and equipments  

Wireline Core Drilling is a faster process of recovering the core. It eliminates the time consuming process of retrieving the core barrel every time it is full of core. Instead core laden inner tube is retrieved with the help of overshot assembly, while the complete drill string remains inside the hole. Wireline Drill Rods are only pulled out on completion of the bore hole or for replacing the diamond core bit or replacing the reaming shell. It is extremely advantageous to use Wireline Core Drilling in softer formations and deep mineral exploration. Double tube core barrels are hard chrome plated on both the ends of the outer tube upto a length of approx 15inches. UEW manufacture the following double tube core barrel in length of 6mtrs, 3mtrs, 1.5mtrs:

Water Swivel serve as a connection between triplex pump and the rotating string of drill rod through a high pressure hose. These are designed for either underground drilling or surface drilling at high speed. Water swivels are available in plain type and bearing type for easier rotation. These are manufactured in all sizes for use in mud or clear water. Universal Engineering Works manufacture water swivel with three different capacities i.e. Light Duty, Medium Duty and Heavy Duty. Light duty water swivel and Medium duty water swivels are generally used for shallow core drilling for geotechnical drilling, soil investigation and heavy duty water swivels are primarily used for deep hole drilling for mineral exploration, mining, diamond core drilling etc.

Tungsten Carbide Core Bits (T C Bits), like diamond core bits, drills for cores but use tungsten carbide as its cutting medium. It cuts the same size core as that by a diamond bit & fits into the same size core barrel. These bits have octagonal tungsten carbide inserts as cutting edge. The quality of tungsten carbide tip has been specially chosen for rotary core drilling to give high wear resistance. UEW T.C. Bits can be used in soft to medium hard or comparatively less abrasive formations. These can be used as tools for cleaning out casing. These bits can replace the more expensive diamond drill bits when used for drilling in non consolidated formations. UEW high pressure triplex pump is a compact pumping unit, suitable for diamond drilling, mineral exploration, geotechnical investigation, soil investigation etc and a number of other applications. Both prime mover (diesel engine or electric motor) and triplex pump are mounted on the steel skid base. Triplex pump have three cylinder fluid end with replaceable hard chrome plated lined cylinders, steel valve and ball valves. All moving parts are completely enclosed in an oil tight case and run in an oil bath. Triplex pumps are equipped with pressure gauge, relief valve, suction and delivery fittings. Triplex pumps can handle clear water or light drilling mud and are available with direct transmission through clutch or ‘V’ belts or can by a clutch.

Triple Tube Core Barrel is used for exploration of dams, bridges, geotechnical investigation, diamond core drilling, soil investigation, testing of foundation of the high rise buildings as well as mineral exploration for obtaining nearly 100% core recovery. After the triple tube barrel has been retrieved from the drill hole the reaming shell, diamond core bit and core lifter case are removed. Air or water is pumped in the head and the third tube / split tube comes out with the help of a piston arrangement. The upper half of the split tube is then lifted thus revealing the core in undisturbed condition.

Subs or Adoptors are used as connectors or coupling to connect drill rods, core barrels, casing, rock bits, water swivel, hoisting plug, fishing tools etc. that have different size or type of threads. All female ends are called "Box" and male ends are called "Pin". All subs are manufactured with right hand thread connections unless the purchaser specifies left hand. UEW manufacture all type subs or adoptor as per customer requirements / drawings.

Universal Engineering Works do not manufacture, but can supply Tricone Rock Roller Bit: Both Milled Tooth Rock Roller Bits and Tungsten Carbide Rock Roller Bits (TCI Bit)are available. Commonly known as R R Bits, we have bits of all sizes viz. 2 7/8" , 3 7/8", 4 ½" , 5" , 6", 9 7/8" , 11 ¾", 12 ¼" , 13 ¾" , 15" , 17 ½" etc. We keep in stock new, used, old and fully reconditioned Rock Rock Roller Bits of various make. For Diamond Core Drilling smaller sizes upto 5” (approx) are used for non coring. For Tubewell drilling larger bits are used like: 8 ½”, 12 1/4” , 17 ½” etc

  UEW does not manufacture but supply Heavy Duty rugged 18", 24", 36", 48"RIDGID Pipe Wrench and Heavy duty RIDGID Chain Wrenches for diamond core drilling , water well drilling, tubewell drilling etc. Spares like heel jaws and hook jaws are also provided. UEW can supply Indian make as well as RIDGID-USA Make Heavy Duty Pipe wrenches and Heavy Duty Chain Wrenches.

Universal Engineering Works manufacture non core diamond bits. These bits are also known as Bull Nose Bit. As the name suggest these non core bits are manufactured for Non Core Drilling where core is not required.

he pavement core drilling machine is the most efficient light weight, portable unit & has been design specifically for the purpose of drilling cores / holes in concrete / bitumen from road, bridges & airport runways etc. It is driven by 5 H.P. diesel engine. The drill portion is supported on two columns. The machine has two speed driven by ‘V’ belt & has arrangement of water tank for coolant purpose. The machine is mounted on a light weight, but strong steel base & the base is mounted on two tyres for easy towing on road by Car / Van / Jeep.

Hoisting plugs are used when making up or breaking out the string and have drill rod thread connection at the bottom. Hoisting plugs are manufactured from alloy steel and are available in all sizes. Hoisting plugs are available in plain and bearing type for easier rotation. Hoisting Plugs are with AW drill rod / BW drill rod / NW drill rod connections. Light duty hoisting plug and medium duty hoisting plugs are manufactured for geotechnical investigation, soil investigation and heavy duty hoisting plugs are manufactured for mineral exploration. Hoisting plugs are also known as pulling plug / lifting bail.

Universal Engineering Works manufacturer conventional W series Drill Rods as per DCDMA / BRITISH standards. All Drill Rods are box threaded at both the ends and are joined by a male coupling. By using best quality of steel combined with CNC threading with proper tooling, UEW ensures 100% interchangeability and high accuracy. UEW also manufacture left hand drill rods for fishing. Drill rods are available in standard length of 3mtrs & 1.5mtrs long. Shorter length like 1.0mtrs, 0.75mtrs, 0.50mtrs etc are also manufactured on customer request. Situated just above the diamond core bit, reaming shell maintains the outside diameter of the drill hole. Diamond Reaming Shell connects the diamond core bit with core barrel. Since its slightly more in outside diameter than the core bit, reaming shell does job of reaming the hole. Drilling crew should constantly check the outside diameter of the reaming shell as less diameter of reaming shell or a worn out reaming shell will result in stuck bit and drill string. Wireline Reaming Shells are provide with TC inserts (Tungsten Carbide). Reaming Shells are set with fully processed natural diamonds. Synthetic diamond (impregnated type) reaming shells are also manufactured.

Impregnated Diamond Drilling Bit consist of small diamonds or diamond powder, distributed throughout the bit crown to a specified depth. During use, the matrix, in which diamonds are impregnated is worn out constantly, ensuring the new, sharp diamonds become active. The diamond size of these bits are very small, thus these diamond drilling bits are used in medium hard to very hard and broken formations. UEW manufactuer standard 8mm matrix depth of impregnation. Greater depth of impregnated core bits are also manufactured.

Universal Engineering Works manufacture Hydraulic Operated Skid Mounted Diamond Core Drilling Machine. UEW 35 Diamond Core Drilling Machine is suitable for core drilling upto approx 150mtrs in solid hard rock conditions with AW drill rod. Core Drilling Machine can be dismantled into various parts and can be easily transported on top of a hill. It is ideally suited for geotechnical investigation drilling, soil testing, soil investigation, dam foundation, tunnel drilling, diamond core drilling, mineral exploration, grouting, bridge foundation, anchorage of holes etc. Drill Rig has an inbuilt cat head for carrying out SPT (Standard Penetration Test). UEW 35 Diamond Core Drill is provided with a two cylinder air cooled diesel engine or water cooled diesel engine.

The function of the core lifter or core catcher is to hold the core inside the barrel and to retain it through wedge action. Universal Engineering Works, core lifters are manufactured from spring steel properly hardened to give extra spring action for longer life. Both broached core lifters and slotted core lifters are manufactured.

Surface Set Diamond Core Drilling Bits consist of single layer of diamonds distributed and set in a pre-determined pattern on the surface in an abrasion resistance matrix. Surface set bits are available in different types of SPC (Stone per carat) viz 1525 SPC, 2540 SPC, 3060 SPC, 6080 SPC, 80110 SPC. Lower the SPC (1525) larger the size of diamonds & higher the SPC (80110) smaller the size of diamonds.

Test core of various diameters can be obtained using UEW thin wall diamond core bits. Thin wall diamond core bits or concrete core drilling bits are designed for drilling through reinforced concrete, masonary drilling, bitumen, marble, granite, concrete and other hard materials to fulfill the needs of engineers, builders etc. These bits are ideally suited for extraction of test cores in concrete, highways, runways, concrete columns, reinforced concrete walls and floors etc . Test core of various diameters can be obtained using Universal Engineering Works thin wall diamond core bits. Both surface set diamond core bits and impregnated diamond core bits are available. Both surface set diamond core bits and impregnated diamond core bits are available. These thin wall core bits are also know as masonary diamond core bits. The narrow kerf of these bits gives a fast rate of penetration. Sufficient coolant must be circulated to remove cuttings and keep diamonds cool while drilling. Thin wall diamond concrete drilling bits can also be supplied with extension core barrels to suit customers requirements. Standard sizes of core bits which are available are: 1" (25mm) , 2" (50mm) , 3" (76mm) , 4" (100mm) , 6" (150mm).

While conducting soil investigation or geotechnical test, contractors require Automatic Trip Hammer / Free Fall Hammer to conduct the SPT (Standard Penetration Test). This automatic trip hammer is designed to push or hammer the Split Spoon Sampler with a standard weight of 63.5 Kg with exact length of 75cm fall. Automatic trip hammer eliminates the human error of measurement and lifting the weight and then dropping on split tube sampler. Test Procedure as described in the British Standard BS EN ISO 22476-3 , ASTM D 1586 and IS 2131 Hammer is generally provided with AW box thread to carry out SPT test with standard AW drill rod as per BS 1377.
