Proper condensate removal is essential for efficient process plant operation. Rex offers a full range of established trap operating principles thermodynamic, ball float, and inverted bucket. Correctly chosen and fitted, rex traps can boost productivity, reduce spoilage, save man-hours, minimize steam consumption and cut fuel bills. HOW IT WORKS As condensate flows into the trap body, air and steam are trapped in the inverted bucket. This gives the bucket buoyancy and it rises with the condensate and quickly closes the valve. When entrapped steam condenses, bucket loses buoyancy, sinks and opens the discharge valve air. Which has accumulated in the top of the trap is immediately expelled by the pressure of the water which follows it to the trap outlet.
