It may be operated in closed circuit with a grinding mill or used in open circuit operation, receiving the feed from hoppers, bins screens. Fineness Control The classifier fineness characteristics are controlled mainly by changing the number, size of whizzer blades or by adjustment of vertical slide dampers. These adjustments can be conveniently made to produce the product of required fineness. Tyco classifiers are capable of delivering fine products from 80–85 % passing 60 mesh to as fine as 99.9% passing through 100 mesh depending upon the material characteristics. Application in Closed Circuit Grinding When operated in closed circuit, combination with a Pulveriser the separator skims off the fines as fast as they are made, so that the mill works only on fresh material without wasting power. The tailings are discharge back to the mill for further reduction.
