This Document Introduces about the Brief Description of technical specifications, installation, inspection,application and the maintenance of Surge Protection Devices of Surge Protection Devices of Class B and Class C and Combo.   The First Stage of the protection provided before the equipment at mains distribution panel is called as Class B type .This type of the Protection shall be provided against the LighteningElectromagnetic Pulse(LEMP) and other high surges at the Power Distribution Panel. The Device is designed and manufactured to handle the lightening current pulses of 10/350 . The class B Protects the AC Power System against the Lightening. This is the Separate Wall Mounted System which is to be installed at the Power Input Point at the ACDB/LT Panel. This equipment consists of the Class B Protection Device and the Protective MCB of suitable rating with the Proper termination of the Line, Neutral and Earthling Connections. Following table shows the technical specifications of the Class B Protection Equipment.This type of protection device is provided against the low voltage surges at the equipment input level connected between line and neutral . The Device is designed and manufactured to handle the lightening current pulses of 8/20 . The class C Provides the protection for the appliances in the AC Power System against the Low voltage surge . This is the Separate Wall Mounted System which is to be installed near to appliance or the sensitive equipment but at the minimum 15 meter distance from the class B Protection. This equipment consists of the Class B Protection Device and the Protective MCB of suitable rating with the Proper termination of the Line , Neutral and Earthling Connections.
