      The filter press is a solid liquid separation device using the principle of pressure feeding. It is highly efficient, compact, dewatering device for separating solids from liquid slurries in the form of compressed cake. It has wide range of applications by several industries like Pharma, bulk drugs, distilleries, beverages & other industries.   The unfiltered liquid is fed into the filter under positive pressure, where liquid travels in downwards direction and finds its way through opening on sides of the Filter Plates. As the liquid pressure increases, the Filter media holds the foreign particles and allows only clear filtrate to pass through the central channel formed by interlocking pressure cups to the outlet. The V blenders manufactured in our Thane unit, are also commissioned at many chemical, pesticide and plastic industries. These specially designed units do not have any packing glands that enter the chamber, and thus prevent any cross contamination. The advantages of using V blenders are that it is easy to clean, charge and discharge, can be used for delicate materials and prevents product contamination.   Construction and Operation : The V-Blender is made of two hollow cylindrical shells joined at an angle of 75° to 90°. The blender container is mounted on trunnions to allow it to tumble. As the V-blender tumbles, the material continuously splits and recombines, with the mixing occurring as the material free-falls randomly inside the vessel. The repetitive converging and diverging motion of material combined with increased frictional contact between the material and the vessel's long, straight sides result in gentle yet homogenous blending. The primary mechanism of blending in a V-Blender is diffusion. Diffusion blending is characterized by small scale random motion of solid particles. Blender movements increase the mobility of the individual particles and thus promote diffusive blending. Diffusion blending occurs where the particles are distributed over a freshly developed interface. In the absence of segregating effects, the diffusive blending will in time lead to a high degree of homogeneity. V-Blenders are therefore preferred when precise blend formulations are required. They are also well suited for applications where some ingredients may be as low as five percent of the total blend size. Normal blend times are typically in the range of 5 to 15 minutes depending on the properties of material to be blended. The charging of material into the V-Blender is through either of the two ends or through the apex port. Studies on V-blenders have demonstrated that for solid powders which have similar size and shape, there is no mechanism to move the powders across the line of symmetry of the blender. For such materials, care must then be taken to load each side of the blender equally to ensure the desired homogeneity of blends. Blending efficiency is affected by the volume of the material loaded into the blender. The recommended fill-up volume for the V-Blender is 50 to 60% of the total blender volume. For example, if the fill of material in the blender is increased from 50% of the total volume to 70% of the total volume, the time taken for homogenous blending may be doubled.   Salient Features Easy to clean. The vessels are Jacketed, insulated, cladded and with suitable agitator assembly in each vessel. Wax is melted in Wax melting vessel; Water is heated in water heating vessel. Both wax and water are transferred into the manufacturing vessel automatically through vacuum. In manufacturing vessel both wax and water are homogenized to make a uniform emulsion and cooled by passing chilled water into the jacket of manufacturing vessel.The Mixing Assembly consists of series of paddle type blades of appropriate shape to move the material back towards the centre of the container. The paddle type blades are provided on the central shaft which runs through a hollow shaft on which other sets of blades are welded. Both the sets of blades intermeshes with each other and rotates in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction respectively and one sets also scraps the container wall for thorough and uniform mixing of the material.  After the emulsion is formed active ingredients/colors etc are added and are thoroughly mixed and homogenized. The same is transferred by bump pump into the storage vessel. From the storage vessel it is automatically transferred into the filling machine by means of metering pump. All product contact parts are stainless steel 316L, with special grade tungsten carbide bearing surfaces. These allow smooth trouble free operation and are an integral part of the impeller head and carrier. The open impeller design allows easy cleaning and can easily be removed for separate cleaning and sterilization. Magnetic Mixers are fully engineered & designed for better CIP/SIP compliances.   It should be noted that higher is the viscosity , lower is mixing capacity of Mixing head. Therefore, selection of Mixing head is based on media Viscosity & demand of mixing application. NOTE: The mixing capacities above are based on aqueous like products with a density of 1000kg/m3 (S.G.=1) and a viscosity of 1cp. Typical applications for ‘Gentle’ mixing are where solids are held in suspension. Typical applications for ‘Blending’ are where soluble liquids are mixed together or where powders easily dissolve into the liquid. Typical applications for ‘Vigorous’ mixing are where a vortex is required for blending of powders into a liquid. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: Inside the impeller head is a ring of rare earth magnets encapsulated in a 316L stainless steel housing. Welded to this housing are the mixing blades, which form an integral impeller head.. The blade shape and profile has been determined to optimize agitation levels and to direct a proportion of the cleaning fluid through the head. A drive unit mounts externally to the vessel and can be quickly and easily removed using a bayonet type connection. This is particularly useful when sterilizing the vessel in an autoclave or when sharing a single drive unit between vessels. The impeller head runs on a special grade of tungsten carbide that has been manufactured under controlled conditions to achieve the correct size, grain structure and hardness. The running surfaces have a ground mirror finish. The vessel can be cleaned in place (CIP) using spray balls and/or by immersion in a cleaning fluid. For maximum effect rotating type spray heads are recommended. Sterilization in place (SIP) is possible with temperatures up to 145°C. A wide range of operating controls are supplied from a simple stand-alone panel to a fully integrated automation system. The Female bearing (rotating bearing) in the centre of the impeller body is Silicone Carbide. Better & faster dissolution of solute into main WFI stream is achieved in this design as mixing is done at higher RPM & re-circulation of mixed liquid is at tangential position in tank. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: Inside the Online Homogenizer, there is provision of 2 stage to 4 stage disintegrating head which are capable of dissolving any solute by high shear impact made of 316L stainless steel housing. Entire Mixing Tank is design of internal pressure for SIP cycle & for Vacuum application also. A drive unit mounts externally to the vessel and can be quickly and easily removed using a TC type connection.
